David took me to a large Mercedes showroom with a small race trac and exhibitions. Some great collectors cars, and formula ones!

A highlight for me was every part of a formula one car suspended.

This info was surprising. The weight of about 5 rugby players!!

The river here with house boats, locks and mariner is very beautiful. David does a vigorous walk most days along it. We called into an outdoor riverside cafe on D'oyly Carte Island. Where we crossed on a footbridge is Eyot House, used by Gilbert and Sullivan in 1890 for concerts.

The coffee and fires were great.

Time here was gentler than navigating French cities and trying to jam in all I could. I managed to rest more, see to some personal maintenance with visits to an osteopath and a hairdressing appointment (came out with blonder hair than expected!). And it has been been good for my soul. Getting to know David and Ranveer has been lovely. Playing rummy cup in the evenings (all us competitive!) and David's clever, tasty and healthy cooking all the while sharing stories, experiences and hopes for our futures. Furthermore, I got to know cousin Maria (David's sister) when David and I visited her at her home. We talked nonstop for a few hours sharing stories of growing up in our families and about our respective parents and grandparents. All are dead now but they were larger than life and characters. We forgot to take a photo of us together. However Maria called over a few days later with her daughter, Charlotte (!), and with a prescious throw woven by our Aunty Janet, which she gifted to Maria when her first child was born. It needed mending. It was very meaningful to spend time mending this for Maria and her family..

Thank you Ranveer for your long and practiced arms providing this photo - notice the painting of Aunty Betty in the bottom right corner!!!! After so little contact through our adult lives, having prescious time with Jenny and Paul in France, and now David, Ranveer, Maria and Charlotte here in Weybridge has been - as Bruce's would say - bloody marvelous!

It was lovely to have you stay with us on your extended trip from NZ. Very special to get to know you as growing up we lived far apart. Glad to have shown you our local area around Weybridge.
